1. Sales Contest Rules
These are the official rules of the West Coast Memorials sales contest
The Sales Contest is open to all participating funeral homes and funeral directors who, for the duration of the Sales Contest Period (as defined below), are:
a) residents of Canada;
b) have reached the age of majority in their province of residence;
c) licensed Funeral Homes and Funeral Directors
3. Sales Contest Period
The Sales Contest commences as of 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Jan 1, 2024 and will continue up to and including 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on April 30, 2024 (the “Sales Contest Period”).
4. How to Enter
All Eligible Funeral Homes and Funeral Directors in all sales regions are automatically eligible to participate in the Sales Contest.
5. How to Win
1st Prize: The Eligible Funeral Director who has collectively generated, during the Sales Contest Period, the highest amount of West Coast Memorials jewelry and gift sales in their region will be declared the First Prize winner.
2nd Prize: The Eligible Funeral Director who has collectively generated, during the Sales Contest Period, the second highest amount of West Coast Memorials jewelry and gift sales will be declared the Second Prize winner.
3rd Prize: The Eligible Funeral Director who has collectively generated, during the Sales Contest Period, the third highest amount of West Coast Memorials jewelry and gift sales will be declared the Third Prize winner.
In the event of a tie between more than one funeral Director the winner will be selected by random draw (the “Tie-Breaking Draw”) conducted by a representative of West Coast Memorials
To qualify as a Sale:
a) the sale must be received during the Sales Contest Period
b) the sale must be original and not a warranty replacement
3 prizes in total will be awarded – 1st Prize - $500 (Canadian) 2nd Prize - $300 (Canadain) 3rd Prize $200 (Canadian)These cash prizes will be awarded by cheque or e-transfer.
7. Notice to the Winners
On May 15th , 2024 at 1 p.m. EST all results will be tabulated at our Ladysmith B.C. office and the winners will be announced.
8. General Rules
As a condition of claiming their prizes, all winners must acknowledge and accept these Sales Contest Rules. All prize values are in Canadian dollars. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitutions are permitted. By accepting a prize, each winner consents to the use by west Coast Memorials of his or her name, place of business, voice, statements, photographs, or other likenesses for publicity, advertising or informational purposes in any medium or format without further compensation or notice.
Winners will be responsible for any and all applicable taxes. The values of the cash Prizes could be considered taxable benefits to the winner and, therefore, reportable on his or her individual income tax return. West Coast Memorials is not a tax advisor and cannot provide personal taxation advice, we recommend winners obtain tax advice from professional tax advisors. Individual funeral director prizes will be delivered to the individuals by courier during the week of June 15th 2024 unless e-transfer is requested, in which case, e-transfers will be issued on June 15th 2024
The Sales Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations in Canada. By participating in the Sales Contest, participants agree to be bound by these Sales Contest rules, and by the decision of West Coast Memorials in determining the winning sales, which will be final and binding on all matters relating to the Sales Contest.
West Coast Memorials reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Sales Contest if any portion of the Sales Contest is not capable of being completed as planned due to any reason including, but not limited to, computer virus, bugs, tampering, technical failures or other causes beyond its control.
West Coast Memorials will not bear any liability for any property damage, personal injury or misfortune in any way attributable to the Sales Contest or the prizes. By entering the Sales Contest, all participants release West Coast Memorials and its employees, officers, directors, agents and affiliated companies from all liability with respect to any damages that may be sustained directly or indirectly from participation in the Sales Contest or from the acceptance and use of the prizes.
Before being declared a winner, the Funeral Home owner and Funeral Director may be required to sign and return, within a stipulated period of time, a declaration of compliance with these contest rules and a full liability and publicity release in forms satisfactory to West Coast Memorials.
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
